Every once in a while, over a casual phone chat, Laura would ask, “What’s on your schedule for the day?” and I'd reply, “How does your day look?”. These seemingly mundane exchanges were the foundation of our deep friendship. I had known Laura as the dynamic woman who once owned a successful Sir Speedy branch in California. After moving to Branson, she became an indispensable part of my life in a matter of years.
Our chats were filled with the quirks of daily life, and often, my perennial complaint about never finding the perfect day planner. It felt like an eternal quest. Some years, I would even end up buying two or three, each falling short of my expectations. I yearned for a planner free from the constraints of predefined goals like drinking an exact amount of water or walking a specific number of steps. I wanted flexibility, a space where I could define my own goals - or perhaps choose not to have any for a particular month.
One day, amidst my grumbling, Laura simply said, "I can create whatever you want." And just like that, a lightbulb moment occurred.
Together, we began brainstorming, and soon enough, our ideal day planner took shape on paper. Laura, with her impeccable design sense, transformed our shared vision into a thing of beauty. From our initial day planner, our creative energies flowed, leading to the inception of sticky notes, to-do lists, stickers, and now, the latest addition, note cards. It was essential that these products maintained a consistent theme, embodying the essence of our brand.
